Why do you think she didn't want me' to know?

Ok so me' and my best friend are Indian and we have this really good friend of ours. She used to talk to me' heaps and now she doesn't. I think it might be cos I have had stress at home with my parents lecturing about my studies. ( I got a bad report :/. ). And I've been kinda serious lately and I haven't talked to her much. I kinda have a crush on her but she doesn't talk to me' much. Now recently a Lebanese kid told her y are me' and my friends parents spending so much money for school when we can be taxi drivers. And she defended us and said fk off you loser. And she told my friend about it. Also I need to add that we both have a crush on her but my friend doesn't know about me' liking her. Anyway we were really grateful for what she had done but then my friend said " she told me' not to tell you" and that really confused me' cos she told my friend and not me'. Do you guys know why she didn't want me' to know????
