Does anyone know of any examples of architects in literature?
Taita the slave in River God (Smith) is an architect among about 20 million other things. In Greek mythology, Daedulus is the architect of Minotaur's labyrinth and Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man (Joyce) uses the name Daedulus as a last name for the main character. In this case, Daedulus isn't a literal architect, but symbolically, his fathers and forefathers have built a labyrinth of problems in Ireland while Stephen Daedulus can either be an Icarus (who flies too close to the sun) or a Daedulus because he's an artist or creator himself.
